– About Leigh Wren
Leigh grew up in country Western Victoria. His early work years saw him undertake a variety of agricultural exploits including sheep shearing and general farm work, before becoming a professional bull and bronc rider. He competed in many rodeos, team roping and PBR events around Australia.
Leigh then completed a Bachelor of Science followed by a Masters Degree in Oenology (the study and science of wine and wine making). After setting up various boutique vineyards in Western Victoria during the 1990s, he took up a position in a textile mill specialising in the development and manufacture of upholstery and innovative textiles for the automotive industry.
This marked the beginning of Leigh’s extensive involvement in the manufacturing sector.
He went on to work for a large automotive and telecommunications component supplier for several years until he was approached to join an international company that specialises in fully integrated foam solutions. Here he managed a large team of employees involved in the manufacture of polyurethane, polypropylene, polystyrene and polyethylene solutions to meet the needs of both the automotive and non-automotive markets. Leigh was also instrumental in implementing procedures for the organisation to achieve ISO 14001 accreditation.
Leigh has gained experience in a wide variety of manufacturing processes across a range of disciplines. He is an advocate of Lean Manufacturing, which is a systematic method originating in the Japanese manufacturing industry for the minimisation of waste without sacrificing productivity. Lean Manufacturing attempts to make obvious what adds value, through reducing everything else (because it is not adding value). Leigh believes that the legal industry could benefit enormously from the adoption of such principles.
Adding to Leigh’s diverse portfolio of skills, he holds a Diploma in Management and has undertaken numerous courses in Workplace Relations, Occupational Health & Safety and Emotional Intelligence. He holds a license to operate a Forklift, Heavy Vehicle, Motorcycle and Boat and has a solid knowledge of machinery, including the servicing and maintenance.
As a volunteer, Leigh has dedicated much time to helping others. He was president of Triple R Equine Welfare for eight years. He played an integral role in providing relief assistance to the horse community following the 2009 Black Saturday, 2013 Coonabarabran, 2014 Kilmore and 2015 Adelaide bushfires and the 2010-2011 Victorian floods. An experienced horseman himself, Leigh has assisted many individuals and organisations with providing both physical and mental rehabilitation to horses.
Leigh is an avid 4WD and motorcycle enthusiast. He used to race and now he regularly participates in social rides. He loves escaping up to the High Country in his Landcruiser for a camping trip when time permits.
Leigh’s background gives him the knowledge and skills to provide a unique service to you like no other firm can.
