– About Faye Kontos
Faye has been employed in the legal sector since 1982, having started at a local medium-sized boutique firm. Faye’s daily activities ranged from reception duties on a PABX switchboard to assisting with Conveyancing transactions and Wills and Probate matters.
Faye then worked for many years in Construction and Major Projects before moving to Commercial Litigation. She supported partners, special counsel and senior associates at several large Melbourne law firms. Her daily work involved reviewing Project Agreements, file management and liaising with corporate clients. She was also responsible for monitoring workloads and day-to-day administrative tasks.
In 2013, Faye was introduced to the world of defendant insurance litigation work. She performed a variety of legal duties including the preparation and filing of Court documents, compilation of briefs, drafting correspondence and communicating with clients, barristers and the opposing solicitors.
Faye commenced with Footner Wren Legal in February 2020, having previously worked with Kathryn Footner at another firm. Her role as Executive Assistant sees her overseeing file management. She has initiated practices to ensure that the work performed on all matters is maintained at a high standard, particularly during the challenging times of COVID 19 when we were subject to constantly changing circumstances.
One of Faye’s attributes is her ability to engage with the clients of the firm. Her bubbly yet compassionate personality encourages people to feel comfortable and at ease. Faye strives to assist clients through the often-stressful legal process, and her down to earth approach provides a professional and supportive service.
Faye was involved as a volunteer at her local lifesaving club for many years, ranging from uniforms coordinator to running the canteen. During this time, she was able to help save four lives. She spotted an aluminum boat sinking from the canteen window and alerted the guards on duty. All four people were brought to safety and kept warm and treated for shock.
When Faye is not at work, she likes to relax watching old/new movies, gardening, reading and water activities. Faye’s main focus is her family and good friends. The love and warmth of family get-togethers around the kitchen table are of many for Faye, and continue to grow with each generation.
Faye’s ability to engage with and support our clients as well as oversee the practice has made her a valuable part of Footner Wren Legal. She brings with her nearly four decades of involvement in the legal industry.
